Woman engineer shot dead in Noida, crime caught on camera

A 23-year-old woman, who worked as a trainee engineer with a mobile-manufacturing company, was shot dead by an unidentified man near her rented accommodation at Shatabdi Rail Vihar in Sector 62 of Noida on Wednesday morning.

Police said Anjali Rathour of Jagadhri near Yamunanagar in Haryana was shot in the head at 6.30 a.m. The CCTV camera captured the scene, but the man has not been identified yet, police said. Anjali was identified when her room-mate Jyoti was leaving for her coaching classes and saw people gathered on the ground floor.

She started enquiring from the residents and saw unconscious Anjali bleeding profusely. She alerted her four other roommates and took Anjali to a hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

A murder case has been registered at the Sector 58 police station and investigations are on.

Rathour was working with mobile phone company Lava as a trainee engineer for about a year. She had graduated from Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar, Punjab, in 2016.
