BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday lauded Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for delivering a `corruption-free government’ in the state.“Nobody can make a single allegation of corruption on the CM.

Haryana government is working on the mantra of Sabka Sath-Sabka Vikas,” he said at the ‘Yuva Hunkaar Rally’ organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party in Jind,“The new initiatives taken by the Khattar government are being praised everywhere, be it the online transfer of teachers, transparency in recruitment, e-stamping or successful implementation of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao programme,” he added.

Describing Haryana a land of warriors, farmers, sportspersons and youth, Shah said its people had given a massive mandate to the BJP government at the Centre and the state in 2014.

The BJP had targeted for a gathering of over one lakh workers, who were asked to reach the rally on motorcycles. Accordingly, all MLAs from the ruling party, including the CM, rode motorcycles from their constituencies to the venue in Jind.

The Congress called it a “flop show”, charging that the amount spent on security was a burden on the state.

Referring to the opposition to his Jind visit by rival parties, Shah said, “We all are dedicated workers of the BJP and there is no need to give an account of our work to the Congress. I came here to give an account of the work done by the BJP to the people of the state.”

Shah said Haryana got a grant of Rs 14,900 crore under the 13th Finance Commission when the Congress was in power both in the state and the Centre. But now with the BJP government, the state has received a grant of Rs 42,000 crore under the 14th Finance Commission.

He urged party workers to spare no effort at their level to ensure that the BJP wins all 10 seats in Haryana in the 2019 parliamentary election.

While addressing the rally, the Chief Minister credited the youth for bringing about a `revolutionary change’ in the country and the state by electing a BJP government at both Centre and in Haryana.

He said in its tenure of over three years, the present state government had not only put an end to corruption, regionalism and nepotism but also ensured uniform development throughout the state.

Slamming Opposition parties, Khattar said the people of Haryana were fed up with the politics based on corruption, regionalism and nepotism and had elected the BJP government to get rid of the misrule of the earlier governments.

“I visited all 90 assembly constituencies and announced various development projects based on the area’s requirement. Today, there is no Assembly constituency where development work was not undertaken during the present state government,” he added.

Shah inaugurated a BJP office in Jind.

While terming the rally a “flop show”, former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda said the BJP chief had left the people of Haryana “disappointed” with no major announcements for the state.

“Over Rs 22 crore was spent on security arrangements for the rally which proved a burden on the state. The BJP chief has left many questions unanswered by being mum over several issues, including the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal and farmers’ income.” Earlier in the day, many leaders of the Opposition parties including the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Congress, along with their supporters opposing the rally, were detained by Haryana police.
