Odisha: Five get death penalty in ‘horrifying’ murder case
Behera was murdered on 25 March, 2019 in the presence of his young daughter. However, the assailants had left her unharmed.
The pronouncement of judgement in the infamous murder of four year old murdered in 2014, has been fixed by the court of district and session judge, Shimla for July 13.
The accused on Friday were produced in the court for the decision in the case which is, however, adjourned for July 13. The four-year-old child was kidnapped from Ram Bazaar on June 14, 2014 and a FIR was registered on 16 June, 2016 under Section 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder) of IPC. After the Shimla police failed to get any breakthrough in the case, the case was later handed over to State CID crime branch.
However, the murder was detected after skeletal remains were allegedly found from a water tank at Kelston in northern part of the Shimla town, more than two years after he was kidnapped.

The CID handling the case arrested three accused who confessed of having subjected the child to physical and mental torture before drowning him into the water tank after they were unable to get ransom from the family of the child.
