An early morning domestic dispute turned fatal in Telangana’s Medchal-Malkajgiri district when a 35-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband inside their residence in Maruthi Nagar on Wednesday.

The victim, identified as Nisha Rani, was killed after her husband, Arun Kumar, allegedly opened fire during an argument at their home. The incident has triggered a manhunt, with police teams searching for the accused, who fled the scene after the shooting.

Three shots fired, victim died on the spot

According to police, the incident took place at around 5:30 a.m. when Arun Kumar allegedly fired three rounds at Nisha Rani following ongoing marital disputes between the couple.

The woman sustained critical injuries and died at the spot due to excessive blood loss before any medical assistance could save her. The body of Nisha Rani has been shifted for a post-mortem examination, which is expected to provide further details regarding the injuries sustained during the attack.

Malkajgiri Police have registered a case and initiated legal proceedings. Investigators said Arun Kumar is suspected of using a firearm despite having previously been caught in connection with an illegal weapon. Police suspect he may have obtained another gun before carrying out the attack.

Following the shooting, the accused reportedly escaped and remains absconding. Telangana Police have formed special teams to trace and apprehend him. Officials said a detailed investigation is underway to establish the exact sequence of events leading to the killing.
