The superintendent of CHC (Siyar), GP Chowdhury, filed a complaint with the police last night, alleging Belthara Road MLA Dhananjay Kanaujia assaulted him, an official said.

Kanuajia, however, said the superintendent made a false allegation to “hide his misdeeds”.

“I was on a surprise inspection at the CHC and found anomalies there,” he said.
SP Anil Kumar said, “A probe has been ordered in the matter.
