Attack on Dalits in UP’s Bijnor: Mayawati seeks action
Mayawati, on Tuesday, posted on X about the attack on Dalits, and has demanded strict action from the government.
On charges of alleged rape of a Mumbai woman who claims herself to be a lawyer, police have arrested Mohammad Faisal, a resident of Nahtore town of district Bijnor. The arrest was made on Sunday night.
Bijnor SP Prabhakar Chaudhary said interrogation of Faisal was going on. He said the duo was known to each other and the woman was staying with him at Nahtore for four days.
Faisal runs a saloon in Mumbai where the girl met him. About four days ago, the girl came to Nahtore and stayed with Faisal. On Sunday, she approached the police with a complaint of rape. Swinging into action, the police arrested Faisal from his residence in the night.
The woman claimed that she was a lawyer, but the police are yet to confirm her claim.
