Under ‘Ek Aur Sudhar Programme’ to roll out one reform every month, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will address about 2000 women from different parts of the state at Indradhanush Auditorium in Panchkula on July 12 and announce significant decisions to further empower women and ensure their safety and security.

While stating this on Wednesday, an official spokesman said that Mahila Sammelans have been organised in different districts through the ‘Ek Aur Sudhar Cell’ in which Project Director of the Cell, Rocky Mittal not only took their suggestions and feedback but also recorded the same in the form of a documentary.

On the basis of these suggestions, the CM would make announcements amidst thousands of women, he added.

The spokesman said that during its three-and-a-half year tenure, the present state government has laid special emphasis on setting up women police stations at district level to further strengthen the policing system.

Apart from this, women police personnel have been recruited in the state police force. He said that apart from district headquarters, women help desks have been set up in 38 sub divisions which have instilled a sense of awareness among the women about their safety and security.

The spokesman said that nod by the government for the purchase of 50 vehicles for women police stations and implementation of a pilot project of Mahila police volunteers’ scheme in Karnal and Mahendergarh would further help keeping a vigil for the prevention of crime.

Also, Durga Shakti Rapid Action Force is being set up at district level to check the incidents of eve teasing.

He said that the CM is quite concerned about the security and empowerment of women in the state.

The suggestions taken from the women from different parts of the state would further help the state government in preparing a blueprint to further strengthen the safety and security of women, the spokesman added.
