Swami Gautamanandaji has become the next president of Ramakrishna Math and Mission.
In a shameful incident, an 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped at a Chennai apartment building by several men for more than 7 months.
The police have arrested 17 people so far in connection with the case.
Among the people who were arrested are security guards, water man and elevator operator of the building.

According to the media reports, the minor girl was allegedly sedated and given spiked soft drinks. The crime was reportedly video-graphed by the accused, who later blackmailed the victim on the pretext of releasing the video online.
The girl narrated her ordeal to her elder sister, who later brought it to the notice of their parents, a senior police officer told news agency PTI. Following this, her mother approached the police and a complaint was filed on Sunday.
The girl reportedly told police that she was first raped by elevator operation Ravi Kumar and after two days he got two more men to rape her. Soon, the number of men went up to 18.
An investigation has been launched in the matter.
