Bengal BJP on Tuesday released its panchayat poll manifesto promising to make the panchayat truly pro-people and remove corruption in several Centre-assisted schemes like ‘Prime Minister Sadak Yojna’ and ‘Swachh Bharat’.

It also promises to provide mid-day meal up to class X and to ensure that people irrespective of their religious belief, could practice their rituals without any interference from administration.

Releasing the panchayat poll manifesto at the state BJP headquarters, party’s state president Dilip Ghosh said on Tuesday that law and order system totally collapsed in the state and restoring the same is the party’s priority.

The manifesto said that democracy in the West Bengal has been murdered and both police and administration became the puppet of ruling party.

“We would highlight through our poll manifesto that West Bengal State Election Commission (SEC) has become very weak and is not performing its duty following political pressure from the TMC. The women panchayat candidates are being openly dishonoured. Unprecedented violence including attacks on the Opposition party candidates and their subsequent murder has surpassed all records of the state,” he said.

The state BJP also promised to provide school books free of cost to all students of government and government-aided schools. The party manifesto promised that each rural family will be brought under government’s insurance scheme and each village will be provided with ambulance, nurse and medicines to ensure minimum medical assistance to the patient’s family.

Criticising chief minister Mamata Banerjee for alleged deteoriating condition of law and order in the state, Mr Ghosh said the BJP will strongly maintain law and order by replacing politically-influenced administration with a pro-people panchayat. “We would not allow any hooligan raj in West Bengal and completely remove syndicate culture”, he said.
