European car maker Volkswagen on Wednesday said it has started production of its sports utility vehicle (SUV) Tiguan in India.
In a statement issued here, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said it has started rolling out its SUV Tiguan from its factory in Aurangabad in Maharashtra.
"We are delighted to introduce one of our most successful global products to the Indian market. The Tiguan will be our premium SUV offering for India and will cater to the unceasing demand in the segment," Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars India Michael Mayer was quoted as saying in the statement.

Our customers will now have an extended portfolio, ranging from hatchback to executive sedan, to meet their requirements at our showrooms, he added.
