Sensex closes 91 pts up, Realty index lead gainer

Supported by positive Asian and European markets, Indian bourses closed Wednesday’s trading session in the positive zone. 
The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) closed 91 points higher at 26,052 and the Nifty at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) ended 31 points up at 8,033.
Broader markets outperformed the benchmark indices, BSE Smallcap and Midcaps indices surged 1.2 per cent and 1.5 per cent respectively.
All the BSE sectoral indices closed in the positive zone with Realty index leading the gains, up 3.4 per cent. 
On Tuesday, the Sensex had closed 196 points higher at 25,961 and the Nifty had ended 73 points up at 8,002.
Top gainers in the Sensex-30 pack: Lupin (up 4.4 per cent), Asian Paints (up 4 per cent), Tata Steel (up 2.9 per cent), NTPC (up 2.6 per cent) and Axis Bank (up 1.9 per cent).
Top losers in the Sensex-30 pack: M&M (down 2 per cent), HDFC (down 1.7 per cent), Power Grid (down 1.4 per cent), HDFC Bank (down 1 per cent) and Bharti Airtel (down 1 per cent).
However, the Rupee was trading 24 paise down at 68.49 against the US Dollar.
