Coming down heavily on the BJP, Trinamul Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee said Bengal would show the way and continue the movement, till the dues are cleared.

Trinamul Congress today released another video snippet carrying Miss Banerjee’s message.

Trinamul Congress is going to organize a rally, Janagarjan Sabha on 10 March to voice protest to clear the dues by the Centre.

Miss Banerjee accused the saffron party of depriving Bengal deliberately. She said “dues of the workers under MGNREGA have not been cleared along those of Awas Yojana and rural roads. Even the request to allot two trains to carry party workers from north Bengal has been scrapped though the requisite money was paid to the railways. What is this? Where are we living?” she asked.

Miss Banerjee took the initiative to clear the dues of the 50 lakh job card holders under MGNREGA. She has also announced that if the Centre does not clear the dues to construct 11.36 lakh houses for rural poor, the state government will build them in phases from May.

Trinamul Congress is gearing up to make the rally at the Brigade Parade Ground a grand success. Meetings and street corners are being held across the state. The party will showcase at the rally cases of those job card holders, who received money from the state government. Party workers have been asked to come to the rally ground by 11am. All senior party leaders have held meetings up to the block level, making people aware of the step-motherly attitude of the centre.

Miss Banerjee along with party MPs had met the Prime Minister and sought his intervention to clear the dues. However, nothing had happened. Miss Banerjee took part in a dharna on Red Road. Party leaders are going door-to-door, making people aware of the steps taken by the state government to clear the dues and how the Centre had deprived the state government.
