The national general secretary of the Trinamul Congress Abhishek Banerjee today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantee means nothing.

Addressing Janagarjan Sabha at Maynaguri Town Club ground in Jalpaiguri today, the TMC national general secretary Mr Banerjee said, “PM Modi has been advertising his guarantee schemes keeping an eye on Lok Sabha polls. Modi’s guarantee means zero but Didi’s (Mamata Banerjee) guarantee is lifetime warranty.”

Significantly, the TMC leader Mr Banerjee screened several video clips of Narendra Modi’s speeches, which were recorded in 2019, in his political meeting today and claimed that all promises were false propaganda.

Even Abhishek Banerjee challenged Narendra Modi and asked him to answer his questions, when he will be coming to campaign in north Bengal, related to 100 days’ job and especially Awas Yojana.

Notably, TMC leader Mr Banerjee today posted on X asking the BJP leadership to prove how much fund was allocated for Bengal. As the BJP countered his statement, Mr Banerjee invited the BJP’s Yuba Morcha leaders in Maynaguri to answer his questions publicly.

Addressing the audience at Maynaguri Mr Banerjee, as no BJP leader was present, asked the BJP to publish a White Paper on it.

“If the BJP can prove that at least 10 paisa has been allocated for Awas Yojana since 2021, I would quit politics,” Abhishek Banerjee said.

Mr Banerjee also said, showcasing Mamata Banerjee’s guarantee as lifetime warranty, that he would quit even the Trinamul Congress if it fails to fulfil the commitments.

“You had cast a vote in favour of the BJP, keeping in mind Ram Temple in the last elections. The Ram Temple has been built but you have not yet constructed your pucca house,” Mr Banerjee said, adding, “You will have to cast votes keeping in mind your rights to obtain basic needs in your daily life.”

Coming down heavily on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the TMC general secretary Mr Banerjee said, “Narendra Modi is now a daily passenger for Bengal. Who does not stay in Bengal and does not know its culture and even cannot speak Bengali, how can you accept Modi’s guarantee! How can he guarantee in association with corrupt leaders in Bengal. Modi’s guarantee means zero.”
