Talking to media persons in Srinagar after attending the PM’s meeting with J&K leaders, Lone said that we have to make an enabling environment for facilitating the delivery of the issues discussed in the meeting in which Home Minister Amit Shah was also present.
The centre has made it clear that delimitation will be held before holding fresh elections for the assembly.
The Core Group called for continued efforts along with the civil society to counter the separatist propaganda and break the cycle of violence for long term peace in Kashmir.
“Mehbooba ji, Tarigami sahib and I will attend the all-party meeting called by the PM. We hope to keep our agenda before PM and Home Minister,” Abdullah said.
Lone chaired a meeting of the party leaders in Srinagar in the context of the All Party meeting called by the Prime Minister on 24 June.
Mehbooba on Sunday morning convened a meeting of the political affairs committee (PAC) of the party to deliberate on the issue of the invitation for the meeting.
The move is being seen as an olive branch to the alienated Kashmiri leaders most of whom were put under detention for more than a year after J&K’s special status was scrapped and the state split into two union territories on 5 August 2019.
