KPCC president K Sudhakaran has attacked Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over the Brahmapuram fire issue. Criticizing  Vijayan’s silence over the Brahmapuram fire issue, Sudhakaran said that his travel to foreign countries to study waste disposal management has gone waste and he is also becoming a waste.

He sought an independent probe into the circumstances which led to the fire at the Brahmapuram waste disposal plant and also awarding of contract to  Zonta Infratech. Sudhakaran said that huge corruption and nepotism had taken place  in awarding the bio-mining contract to Bengaluru-based firm Zonta Infratech.

The KPCC president said that the state government is responsible for the Brahmapuram fire and said that the local body also has its responsibility on the fire and the resultant toxic fume.

Sudhakaran said that  he strongly  suspects sabotage behind the Brahmapuram fire. He added that all sides were burnt at the same time and it shows that there was sabotage behind the fire.

The KPCC president said that awarding contracts to undeserving and inexperienced party members without a bit of scientific knowledge was an abuse of power. He demanded an independent investigation into the awarding of the contract and the circumstances which led to the fire at the Brahmapuram waste disposal plant.
