Incessant overnight rains lashed the city and its adjoining areas affecting the morning traffic on Friday. The city continued to experience moderate and scattered showers in the morning too with the weather department saying the National Capital Region (NCR) will receive one or two spells of heavy rain during the day.

“Delhi received 45.8 mm of rain in the last 24 hours,” said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official. At 8.30 am, the humidity was recorded at 98 per cent.

Waterlogging in several parts of the city led to congestion on both arterial roads and service lanes. The Delhi Traffic Police tweeted out all the bottlenecks to keep the morning commuters abreast with the situation.
