WhatsApp banned 70 million accounts in India from Jan-Nov 2023: Report
The instant messaging app, WhatsApp, said it has banned some 70 million accounts in India between January and November 2023.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has reportedly busted a global child porn racket which was running through mobile app Whatsapp.
According to the media reports, pornographic videos and pictures were being circulated through a group on WhatsApp which was named as “KidsXXX”.
The agency has lodged an FIR for violations of the Information Technology Act.

Some reports suggest that a 20-year-old man, identified as Nikhil Verma, one of the five alleged administrators of the group, has been arrested in connection with the case.
Verma, who is a commerce graduate, belongs to Kannauj in Uttar Pradesh, the spokesperson said.
A report in The Hindu claims that Satyendra Chauhan (Mumbai), Nafis Raza and Zahid (Delhi) and Adarsh (Noida) are other administrators of the Whatsapp group.
It has been revealed that people from countries like US, China, Brazil and Pakistan were a part of the group.
The CBI is currently investigating all the aspects related to the case.
