To ensure the smooth conduct of the polls, over 2,22,000 security personnel were deployed.
The Chhattisgarh government on Thursday announced the implementation of the 7th pay commission, becoming one of the few states which has implemented the recommenations of the Central Pay Commission.
The announcement was made by Chief Minister Raman Singh and the move is expected to benefit 2.5 lakh state government employees.
Several state government employees have threatened to launch a stir as many states have still not implemented the recommendations of the pay commission.

The primary issue is the revision of House Rent Allowance which has been revised to 27 per cent under the 7th pay commission.
