Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh gets first snowfall of season, temperature dips
The iconic heights of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand were covered in white on Tuesday after the district received the season's first snowfall.
A 14-year-old girl died today after she accidentally fell into a concrete stone mixing plant at Chhijarsi village here, an official said.
The victim, Gujan, had gone to collect cow dung for Govardhan puja when she accidentally slipped and fell into the mixing plant, he said.
The stone mixer plant has been sealed by City Magistrate Mahindra Singh and a complaint has been given against its manager, the official said.

Her half burnt body was found lying near the plant and it has been sent for post-mortem, he said.
Meanwhile, agitated residents blocked the traffic on the road leading to the village in protest against the death of the minor.
Singh along with a team of Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board and police force reached the protest site and dispersed the mob, he added.
