Gangtok, 25 October: One of the three persons injured in a road mishap that occurred at Dipudara near Singtam around 11 p.m. on Wednesday died today. The lorry they were on had slipped at least 200 feet below the road. Those injured were admitted to Singtam district hospital from where they were referred to CRH Manipal in Gangtok this morning. One of the three injured identified as Indra (18), died today. He was stated to be the helper of the ill-fated lorry. Two others were identified as Suman Tamang (21), the driver and a passenger, Navin Tamang (20).
In another incident, an Army jawan was killed when a Gypsy skidded the road and slipped in the ditch near Chungthang and Rangma Range in North Sikkim. Sources said the vehicle was ferrying around eight porters hired by the Army to the forward areas of North Sikkim when the accident occurred around 12.30 p.m, killing a resident of Bihar, Havildar BS Tiwari on the spot.     SNS
