Siliguri, 4 August: To commemorate its fourth anniversary, Katha-O-Kobita, an association of recitationists in north Bengal, will organise a first-of-its-kind two-day programme of recitation and sruti natak (talk theatre) at the Dinabandhu Mancha from 6.00 p.m. on 10 and 11 August 2013.
Dr Partha Pratim Pan, president, KOK, who announced this at a press meet here today, said they would organise two programmes of classical recitation and talk theatre on 10 and 11 August respectively. “On the first day, renowned recitationist Soumitra Bandopadhaya of Kolkata as well as artistes from the KOK, Sonar Tari and Katkata groups of Siliguri will entertain people with a variety of recitations. On the second day, artistes from “Amrita Kumbha” of Behrampore, “Chhander Akash” of Jalpaiguri, “Ubacha” and “Chhander Vani” of Siliguri as well as hosts KOK will present a host of talk theatres,” he said. The KOK president also informed a first-of-its kind magazine on talk theatre, two CDs of recitation and talk theatre as well as a VCD of veteran recitationist Utpal Kundu would be released during the two-day programme.     sns
