The outgoing Chief Justice of Sikkim, Mr Pius C Kuriakose, today said he was a little sad to come here and now sadder to leave the state, while delivering his farewell speech at the High Court of Sikkim today.
Acting Chief Justice, Mr Narendra Kumar Jain, a Judge of the High Court, Mr Sonam Wangdi, the members of the Bar Association of Sikkim, a former judge of the Sikkim High Court, Mr A P Subba, aside from some senior advocates and staff members of the High Court attended the farewell.
Mr Justice Kurikose had taken charge of the High Court as the Chief Justice on 28 March for a period of six months. “On the verge of my demitting office, I have the satisfaction of having been able to do something for the state&’s judiciary and the legal and judicial system of the state,” he said.
