Threat to TMC: A CPI-M supporter allegedly tried to murder a TMC worker, Debashis Kundu, asking him not to contest rural polls. Chottu pointed a gun at Kundu’s chest but fled when locals came.     sns

TMC workers hurt: Six TMC activists were hurt, one of them seriously, when some goons hurled bombs on a TMC rally at Tangra Bazar in Bongaon.The Injured were taken to Bongaon sub-divisional hospital.     
Woman injured: Mrs Sibani Suili (33) was injured after being hit by a pool car on Deodhar Rahman Road at Charumarketon Monday. She was admitted to SSKM hospital. The driver of the vehicle was held.     sns
Poll violence:A girl, reportedly a French national was allegedly molested by some local youths on Rahim Ostagar Lane while she was returning home along with her boyfriend. One Kamal Naskar was arrested. 
6 arrested: Six persons, who were arrested on charges of smuggling ammunitions in 2003, were sentenced to life imprisonment by the Alipore Court. The bullets were brought from a neighbouring country.  

Death of a worker: Loomtex jute mill was allegedly ransacked on Monday by its employees after the death of Lalababu Sinha, a staff. Theyalleged that the victim couldn’t afford a better treatment due to meagre pay.
Suci wokers hurt: CPI-M activists today allegedly attacked Suci workers with at Deulbari under Kultali police station.Suci alleged seven of their workers were injured when the CPI-M  activists attacked them.  
Woman found dead: Mystery shrouds the death of a 28-year-old woman, whose body was found hanging in a room in her in-laws house in Sodepur in Ghola. Paranjoe Majunder, a news reader was found dead.    
Road blockade: The local residents of ward 41 in the the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) blocked the Sevoke Road at 2nd Mile protesting against the deplorable  condition of the road in the area.     sns
