Odisha to intensify TB screening in 13,271 high-risk villages

The Odisha government will launch an intensive tuberculosis (TB) screening drive in 13,271 high-risk villages and urban wards under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan–100 Day Campaign 2.0, with focus on X-ray-based screening, preventive treatment and regular follow-up of vulnerable populations.

District-wise data shows that Mandi (26 deaths), Kangra (28), and Kullu (11) were among the worst-affected in rain-triggered disasters. Among the deaths, 133 were deaths reported in rain-related incidents such as landslides, flash floods, drowning, and electrocution, and another 124 fatalities in road accidents,.
