Senior officials from China, Pakistan and Afghanistan have held talks under a trilateral framework to bring peace and development in the war-torn country, the Foreign Office said here.

The second meeting of the China-Afghanistan-Pakistan (CAP) Practical Cooperation Dialogue was held in Kabul from September 26 to 27, according to a joint statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office yesterday.

The three sides held discussions on the areas of trilateral practical cooperation and agreed to enhance ties.

“The three sides agreed that the aim of the trilateral practical cooperation is to support the peaceful reconstruction and economic development of Afghanistan,” the statement said.

They agreed to enhance communication, coordinate China and Pakistan’s assistance to Afghanistan on the basis of fully taking into account Kabul’s priorities, it said.

The three sides agreed that policy communication, infrastructure, human resources, livelihood building and people-to-people exchange were the five key cooperation fields and will steadily promote concrete cooperation, it said, adding the next round of dialogue will be held in Islamabad.
