This takes the total number of US military casualties in Iran war to 16.
According to CENTCOM, four American service members were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals.
“Four American service members were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals. They have since been discharged. Other personnel who were evaluated for minor injuries have returned to duty,” the CENTCOM statement added.
The identities of the US military personnel killed in Iranian strikes have been withheld “out of respect for the families” and would be released 24 hours after the next of kin has been notified.
The development comes amid escalating tensions in West Asia, with both the United States and Iran resuming attacks on each other.
The US military earlier said that it launched airstrikes on Iran for the seventh consecutive night of strikes since US President Donald Trump declared the ceasefire “over”.
In retaliation for the US attacks, Iran has also been targeting American assets in the region.
According to the Iranian state media, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that its Aerospace Force targeted the US military base at Al Azraq in Jordan in response to the US attack on a desalination facility.
The Iranian missiles and drones hit aircraft shelters and parking areas, destroying at least two fighter jets and three other aircraft while damaging additional military assets, reported the Tehran Times.
The IRGC Ground Force also targeted US positions in Bahrain and Kuwait, including Camp Arifjan and Ali Al Salem Air Base.
A radar system, a weapons maintenance facility, and a drone hangar at Ali Al Salem were destroyed in the attack, the Iranian daily added.
