Delhi's Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Parvesh Verma on Sunday carried out an extensive inspection of the Yamuna at the Palla area, the crucial point where the river enters the national capital from Haryana.
During this visit, officials from the I&FC and other departments, as well as the local DM and SDM, were also present.
The water level at the Old Railway Bridge was 204.94 m, at 6 pm, said Central Water Commission (CWC).
The water level of the River Yamuna was recorded at 207.27 meters at 1 pm on Saturday which was at 207.38 meters at 12 pm.
The Divisional Commissioner in the presence of the District Magistrates provided an overview of the current situation including the measures being undertaken by the government and updates on relief efforts.
Delhi witnessed its worst-ever floods in 1978 when the river's level touched a record 207.49 m.
