Wholesale price inflation in April rose sharply to 8.3 per cent from 3.88 per cent in March, driven mainly by a steep rise in fuel and energy prices, according to data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Thursday.
India’s wholesale price-based inflation moved into positive territory in December 2025, with the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) rising to 0.83 per cent year-on-year, according to data released by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday.
WPI-based inflation was 0.13% in September and 2.75% in October last year.
The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) based inflation for September was recorded at 0.13%, driven by increase in prices of manufacture of food products, other manufacturing, non-food articles, other transport equipment and textiles etc.
