Covid-19 infections in South Korea are forecast to steadily rise later this month ahead of the summer vacation season, health authorities said Tuesday, urging older adults and vulnerable groups to receive vaccinations.
Vaccinations given to children at a young age improve their immunity to certain infections.
The second worst hit country in terms of cases is India (42,957,477 infections and 514,878 deaths), followed by Brazil (29,040,800 infections and 652,216 deaths).
“I want to speak my maan ki baat. So many birthdays came and went. I kept away from celebrating them. But in my entire life, yesterday was an emotional day,” he said.
While 6,30,191 people have received their first jab, 3,79,505 of them have already been administered both the doses in the city.
As on 11th February 2021, till 8 AM, more than 70 lakh (70,17,114) beneficiaries have received the vaccination under the countrywide COVID19 vaccination exercise.
More than 15.55 crore tests have been conducted till date, while cumulative positivity rate is 6.37% and the average daily positivity rate during last week was 3.00% in the country.
