Unseasonal rain triggered by deep depression since the past 48 hours has dealt a blow to farmers, mostly in coastal and southern parts of Odisha as steady downpour has damaged the harvest-ready paddy crops.
West and North India are witnessing unseasonal rainfall which has led to the destruction of crops like wheat, mustard, and one of the season's favourite fruits, Mango.
The affected districts are Fatehpur, Pilibhit, Bareilly, Sitapur, Aligarh, Moradabad, Sonbhadra, Hamirpur, Sambhal and Unnao.
Traffic in the area was also affected after branches of trees fell on the road due to the powerful winds.
Traffic was affected on Rohtak Road in the carriageway from Nangloi towards Mundka due to water logging near Rajdhani Park Metro Station.
However the cyclonic circulation over Madhya Maharashtra & neighbourhood extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level has become less marked, the weather bulletin issued by India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
