The juvenile was incidentally lodged at Observation Home, RS Pura, Jammu, in another case, registered at the Gursai Police Station in Mendhar of the District Poonch.

The civilians were picked up by the Army personnel after an ambush by terrorists in which four soldiers lost their lives.

The gunfight between the terrorists and security forces started on Thursday after a joint team of the police and the security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation on the basis of specific information about the presence of terrorists.
An Army soldier was martyred and two soldiers and a policeman were wounded during the encounters in Anantnag and Kulgam districts.
"128 local terrorists had joined this year, out of which 73 were killed in encounters and 16 were arrested. Only 39 are active currently. The numbers are significantly down as compared to the last 2 years," said Kumar.
The two encounters broke out in the Hardumir area of Tral and Chowgam in Shopian. Two terrorists were killed in each of these encounters. The encounter in Tral lasted a few minutes.
