He termed the developments as "worse than the draconian days of the Emergency."
In a far-reaching development, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Badal was on Friday indicted by Akal Takht, the supreme temporal seat of Sikhs.
Speaking to a crowd at the Shaheed Baba Gurbax Singh Jee gurdwara on the grounds of Akal Takht on the 103rd anniversary of SAD's founding, Sukhbir expressed regret
Badal revealed that an additional 10 to 15 SGPC members who had stood with Bibi Jagir Kaur were poised to rejoin the SAD in the forthcoming days. He also urged all leaders who had previously departed from the party to reunite under the SAD's banner
Party president Sukhbir Singh Badal announced a set of changes aimed at strengthening the party and giving ‘more space to youth, women as well as other sections of society’.
The delegation alleged a scam in the policy. "There has been a scam in Punjab Excise Policy just like it happened in Delhi. Just like the Delhi LG has ordered an inquiry into the Excise Policy case, we demand a CBI inquiry along the same lines in Punjab," said Badal.
AAP chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang said that as the ongoing investigation has linked Badal to the 2015 Kotkapura firing case following sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has summoned former Deputy Chief Minister Badal for questioning in the Kotkapura firing case on 30 August.
The spokesperson quoted SAD leaders saying Badal led from the front in the recent Assembly polls and also inspired the party leadership as well as the party cadre to give its best.
State Congress chief Navjot Sidhu took to Twitter to announce that a case has been registered.
