Badal revealed that an additional 10 to 15 SGPC members who had stood with Bibi Jagir Kaur were poised to rejoin the SAD in the forthcoming days. He also urged all leaders who had previously departed from the party to reunite under the SAD's banner
The SAD chief also expressed deep concern over the suspension of visa services for travel from Canada to India.
The SAD leader said prime among these included the breaking of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) by creating a separate Gurdwara Committee for Haryana besides interfering in the SGPC elections.
The SAD president said that the people are no longer safe and secured in rural and urban alike Punjab because of steep hikes in the cases of extortion and ransom.
“I thank Akal Purakh, Khalsa Panth and SGPC members for giving a resounding rebuff to anti Sikh conspirators and their stooges by reposing faith in Akali Dal and SGPC poll today,” said SAD chief.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday gave a clarion call for a "main front", comprising the Congress, to oust the BJP in 2024 parliamentary polls.
