Lt. Governor VK Saxena on Tuesday asked Astronaut Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla to regularly interact with youth of Ladakh to motivate them for aiming the sky. Saxena met Shukla at the Lok Niwas, Ladakh.
Indian Air Force Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla on Monday was conferred with the Ashoka Chakra, the country's highest peacetime gallantry honour, by President Droupadi Murmu during the 77th Republic Day celebrations at Kartavya Path.
Apart from the Ashok Chakra, the President has approved the award of three Kirti Chakras; 13 Shaurya Chakras, including one posthumous; one Bar to Sena Medal (Gallantry); 44 Sena Medals (Gallantry), including five posthumous; six Nao Sena Medals (Gallantry), and two Vayu Sena Medals (Gallantry).
Sharing his experiences from his space mission, Shukla said that the view of India from space is breath-taking, and the country appears to be “the best in the world.”
He was speaking at the 23rd convocation of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) here where he was conferred the honorary degree of Doctor of Science (DSC) by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel.
