Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani had a telephonic conversation with PM Modi this evening.
The Prime Minister, who described the Qatar Amir as his "brother", said trade featured prominently in the talks and the two countries want to increase and diversify trade linkages.
At the invitation of PM Modi, the Amir of Qatar, is on a State visit to India from February 17-18.
This will be the premier's second visit to Qatar after assuming office in 2018.
