Ahead of chief minister Mamata Banerjee's visit to Siliguri, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista has called for her intervention in resolving the ongoing bonus dispute in Darjeeling tea plantations, under the jurisdiction of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA).
Darjeeling MP Raju Bista today accused the state government of not cooperating with the CBI investigation into the R G Kar Hospital rape case, claiming that they have resisted every attempt to uncover the truth.

Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, accompanied by Sikkim MP Indra Hang Subba, met with Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Jual Oram on Mon day, urging him to expedite the re-inclusion of left-out Gorkha sub-tribes as Scheduled Tribes.
"She seems to forget that West Bengal is not a single language state. Bengali is one of the softest languages in the world, and the mother tongue to a great many renowned personalities across the world, including Nobel Laureates. However, along with Bengali, West Bengal is also home to many other indigenous languages..."
According to the MP, due to the “gross mismanagement” by the TMC government, HIMUL has been forced to shut down its operations. “I fear that much like Metro Dairy, the TMC Government will give away HIMUL assets too to their cronies, while keeping the HIMUL cooperative members are deprived of the funds,”
"I would request through the media that the Rashtrapati, Pradhan Mantri and Griha Mantri should visit the state to watch the situation here and save Bengal by imposing President's Rule," Bista termed Mamata government as "Talibani Sarkar".
"The meeting will show what PPS means, but for us, it is a constitutionally guaranteed arrangement, which is outside Bengal," he said, also alleging that in 2020 the tripartite meeting for PPS had been changed to a meeting for GTA as the GJM-1 was not sincere then"
According to Mr Bista, the Union Home Ministry will be sending out invitation letters for the talks within the next two weeks.
