Union Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav has urged Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to ensure that 20 per cent of the plantations in the proposed eight theme-based forests being developed under the city's massive plantation drive comprise medicinal plant species, according to officials from the Ministry of Ayush.
Calling hypertension a “silent killer”, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, has said the condition often progresses without visible symptoms and can lead to severe complications such as heart attacks and strokes.
A total of 20,019 organ transplants were performed in India in 2025, the government informed the Parliament on Tuesday.
