The scheme seeks to provide quality-assured generic medicines at significantly lower prices through an expanding network of dedicated Jan Aushadhi Kendras (JAKs) across the country, thereby strengthening the affordability and access to generic pharmaceuticals.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday visited a Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) Kendra in Ashok Vihar and assured that her government would work to expand the network of such centres across the city as per the applicable regulations.
Jan Aushadhi Kendras grew more than 170 times in number in last 10 years (from only 80 in 2014) and more than 14,000 kendras now cover almost all the districts of the country.
Modi government has been providing quality medicines at affordable prices to the masses under PMBJP.
