According to the national portal, more than 58.36 lakh applications have been received across the country so far, while more than 10.94 lakh applications have been registered in Uttar Pradesh alone.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Prahlad Joshi, held a joint review meeting on Thursday.
Under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, launched earlier this year, Lucknow has emerged as the frontrunner by installing the highest number of rooftop solar panels in Uttar Pradesh in just seven months.
This new initiative will add to the state's ongoing programmes and schemes to boost the generation and use of solar energy by raising awareness.
