Uttar Pradesh has earned a place of pride in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025, with several state universities making their mark across multiple categories.
Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, today released the India Rankings 2025, which implements the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) drafted for this purpose by the Ministry of Education in 2015.
Higher Education (HE) rankings transcend mere numerical values; they reflect the quality, competitiveness, and global stature of educational institutions. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was introduced in India in 2015 by the Ministry of Education to assess and rank higher education institutions based on various criteria.
The wise and holistic utilization of human resources is the primary and undeniable precondition for the overall development of any nation.
“Elated to share that as per NIRF India Rankings ’21, Calcutta University & Jadavpur University are the top ranking universities in India. Among colleges, St Xavier’s College, Kolkata & Ram Krishna Mission Vidyamandir, Howrah has also secured top ranks,” Miss Banerjee tweeted.
In the college's category, Miranda House in Delhi bagged the first rank followed by Lady Sri Ram College for Women, Delhi and Loyola College, Chennai.
WB Government-run universities, Jadavpur University at 5th and Calcutta University at 7th, have featured in the Centre's ranking of top Indian universities.
