Sharad Pawar’s party to join NDA but tussle continues for Maha Finance Ministry

Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale said that Sharad Pawar and his NCP would be welcome in the NDA, if he joins the BJP-led ruling alliance.
The Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) submitted a memorandum to the President regarding the rising burden of fuel prices, the national examination system, and the alleged growing insecurity among minorities, among other issues.
According to the formula, the BJP will contest 11 seats, the Shinde-led Sena will contest 4 seats, and the Sunetra Ajit Pawar-led NCP will contest 2 seats.
Sources said that the BJP stand, which was discussed at a meeting of the Sunetra Ajit Pawar-led NCP on Tuesday evening, has not gone down well with her partymen.
The NCP has elected Sunetra Pawar as the new legislative party leader. The party has already announced that Ajit Pawar's wife and Rajya Sabha MP Sunetra Pawar will be the Deputy Chief Minister of the state.
Significantly, after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee suggested the possibility of a "conspiracy," NCP founder Sharad Pawar told media persons that the incident was purely an accident and must not be politicised.
There is also speculation that Ajit Pawar's wife, Suntera Pawar, could become the party chief as well as Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister.

The tragedy struck when final touches were about to be given to this transition, and Ajit Pawar left for Baramati to address a zilla parishad election campaign early Wednesday morning, NCP sources said.
