“The incident was reported around 12:03 am on Thursday, when a PCR call was received at Pandav Nagar police station regarding an accident near the Manglam Cut on NH-24,” said a senior police officer.
The incident occurred around 1:08 am on January 1 when a quarrel broke out between two neighbours, resulting in the death of Dharmender, a local resident, the police said.
The family had suspected no foul play in the death, but prima facie it appears to be a case of suicide due to depression, said an official.
According to the police, a team rushed to the spot after receiving a PCR call and removed Sharma’s body from the track and sent it to the hospital.
