Bombay High Court Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar administered the oath of office to Jishnu Dev Varma at the Darbar Hall of the Lok Bhavan in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar, along with several other dignitaries.

A press communique from the Rashtrapati Bhavan reads: "The President has accepted the resignations of Bhagat Singh Koshyari as Governor of Maharashtra and Radha Krishnan Mathur as Lt Governor of Ladakh.
The incident happened around 9 a.m. at Mumbai Airport when the Governor and his aide reached to take the state government aircraft to Dehradun.
The Governor also asked the Home Minister to allow the family of Arnab Goswami to see him and to speak to him.
'Reports appearing in a section of the media regarding my health are baseless. I am hale and hearty,' said Koshyari.
