As reported earlier, elections to 37 Rajya Sabha seats across 10 states are scheduled for March 16, while the tenure of seven MPs from Maharashtra, including that of NCP founder Sharad Pawar, will come to an end shortly.
The development comes after the Election Commission of India announced elections for 37 vacant Rajya Sabha seats in 10 states.
Speaking to media persons at a press conference here on Saturday, Raut said, “I believe Sharad Pawar will come to the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) along with Ajit Pawar”.
The MNS spokesperson also alleged that many candidates are not even reachable on their mobile phones and have "gone missing".
The development came after Sharad Pawar-led NCP leader Jayant Patil met Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray at his 'Matoshree' residence in Bandra East on Friday and the Sharad Pawar-led NCP's talks with the Ajit Pawar-led NCP to enter into an alliance broke down in Pune.
Pawar had held the position of the Deputy CM for a brief period with Devendra Fadnavis as the Chief Minister last year.
Party leader Sanjay Raut and a group of Shiv Sena workers are already in Ayodhya since the past five days to oversee the arrangements for the visit of Thackeray and his family.
However, Urban Development Minister and senior Sena leader Eknath Shinde said no decision had been taken on this issue yet.
As per the reports, Thackeray is also expected to meet Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, Home Minister Amit Shah and senior BJP leader LK Advani.
The Centre last month transferred the probe in the case from the Pune Police to NIA, a move then criticised by the state Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress government.
