The officer trainees are currently undergoing Phase-1 training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie.
Although the admissions were done through the NEET merit list, the protestors demanded that the medical institute should be reserved for Hindu students, as it was being funded with donations of Hindu devotees by the Vaishnodevi Shrine Board.
The LG also instructed for the sensitization of prison officers and staff and frequent checking and surveillance of prisons across the UT of J&K.
The LG was addressing the "Strategic Management Forum Conference on Policy Making and Strategic Planning" at IIM Jammu, aimed at realising the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Addressing the valedictory session of Foundation Day Celebrations of the Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST) at Awantipura in Kashmir, he expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the car blast on 10 November.
“This decision has not been made by the cabinet, nor has the education minister signed off on it. We should decide what happens in our schools without outside dictation on these matters,” Omar told reporters.
The Lieutenant Governor dedicated the bridge to the people of Ramban and expressed gratitude to the brave Army engineers who had worked tirelessly under challenging conditions to build it.
