The Supreme Court stayed the bail order for Kuldeep Sengar in the Unnao rape case. Welcoming the decision, the survivor said her family will continue the fight for justice.
Sengar, who was convicted in the rape case and sentenced to life imprisonment, was allowed to walk out of jail after Delhi High Court suspended his sentence and granted him bail.
Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who is a convict in the 2017 case of rape of a minor in Unnao, has sought interim bail for his daughter's wedding on February 8, 2023, whose ceremonies will start in January.
Lamba had tweeted that Kuldeep Singh had got the bail from the court at the behest of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister.
According to a notification, Sengar, who was elected from Bangarmau constituency in Unnao, has been disqualified as per the rules following his conviction by a Delhi court.
Meanwhile, the CBI, while terming the Unnao victim's case 'an extraordinary one', has asked for maximum punishment to be awarded to expelled BJP MLA.
The survivor’s mother was cross examined on October 9.
