An earthquake of 3.7 magnitude struck Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar region on Monday morning, according to the National Center for Seismology.
An official said that the sightings were reported at 30 locations where an adult with two cubs were also captured in the camera thereby confirming the breeding status of snow leopards in Kishtwar.
No report of casualty or damage to property has been received so far.
The Union Minister, who is a known physician and diabetologist, also participated in a Multi-Speciality Medical Camp organised by the Indian Army at village Gulabgarh.
J&K’s Department of Wildlife Protection on Tuesday released seven pictures of the endangered species trapped in a camera frame.
One of these snow leopards standing on a rocky surface was caught in the camera trap on October 1 at 2.15pm. The other picture was captured in a green mountain area on September 20 at 11.47am.
The incident took place in the Bhalna forest area of Keshwan belt when high-speed winds and heavy rainfall uprooted the tree.
