The CPI-M Kerala secretary MV Govindan said on Wednesday that the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) decision to give a clean chit to the BJP in the 2021 Kodakara hawala case has confirmed the CPI-M's claim that it is a politically motivated agency.
A day after the conclusion of its state conference in Kollam, voices of dissent and protest surfaced in the Kerala CPI-M with party leaders resorting to an unusual protest over not getting a place in the CPI-M state committee and secretariat.
Addressing a press conference here, MV Govindan asked whether the agency had any credibility. He said the ED is one of the prominent agencies in the country, which the Supreme Court had said has lost its credibility. He said the the case will be dealt with in an appropriate way.
Satheesan said a retired IPS officer with friendly relations with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, played an important role in former CM Karunakaran’s joining the saffron party.
