Government sources have confirmed that legal procedures are being expedited to file the appeal before the High Court against the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court’s verdict.
Appearing for Kerala, senior counsel Kapil Sibal told the Bench, “We are saying this (SIR) is co-terminus with the local election.”
He also sought the urgent intervention of the Kerala High Court in the matter, as the current situation is reportedly reminiscent of the 2023 crisis.
