As Karnataka prepares for a leadership transition, D.K. Shivakumar credited Siddaramaiah's decades of public service and said his guidance would continue to shape the state's future.

Congress general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal made the announcement at the party headquarters here. He said Shivakumar will continue as state Congress chief till the Lok Sabha polls. He will be the only Deputy chief minister.
Siddaramaiah will be the next chief minister of Karnataka with DK Shivakumar as his deputy, ending days of uncertainty, sources said.
New cases in Karnataka crossed the 100-mark twice in the last week.
Bommai said that the state government will obtain the detailed project report, and take steps to implement the project.
"I will undergo RT-PCR test after two days and if the report comes negative I will resume work from Wednesday," Sudhakar said.
Stringent action would be initiated against those who take law into their hands, the Chief Minister said speaking to media.
He is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, party President J.P. Nadda and other senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party and seek blessings.
